Tales of an Online College Lecturer: Episode 2

When Mature Students Need Support

One of the things that I love about teaching online is teaching students ages 17 to 65…yes, 65. In 2020, I was blessed to have a 65-year-old student in my courses. She was so precious to me and had the energy of a 20-year-old. Her experiences and devotion to her course work made such an impression in both courses as she had enrolled in two of my synchronous courses and participated in group activities.

This week, I’m sharing the second video in this series which focuses on supporting more mature students. I hope that you find them helpful. Mature students are gems. Honor and cherish them. Be patient with them. Allow them to shine as their expertise with life, and career experiences will bless everyone in your courses.

Watch to find out how I supported three mature students over the years. Feel free to share any tips you may have and if you have not done so already, go ahead and join my YouTube family.
