Modifying Instruction for Your College Students

The Almighty Syllabus.

If you are like me, you tell your students that the syllabus is the roadmap for the course. It is their GPS, so to speak, and it guides them from the beginning to the end of their academic travels with you.

I have a question for you.

How often do you deviate from your syllabus because you have had to modify your instruction for your students?

I know that there is so much to cover in a semester and if you teach mini-sessions (8 weeks), I am sure the pressure is on even thicker; but how often do you gauge whether your students are ready for the next module and if you find that they are not, what do you do?

Today, I wanted to share an experience with you that has happened to me very recently. But, I didn’t want to write it out. I wanted you to hear my voice so I recorded it. I invite you to listen as I share my perspective on modifying instruction in higher education and particularly in the distance learning space.

I get on a little soapbox. 🙂

Just thought I would warn you.

Feel free to share your thoughts.
