Five Key Traits You Need to Thrive as a Higher Educator

Learn five traits that higher educators must possess to thrive.

Welcome to this week’s audio blog!

I am excited to share five key traits you must possess to thrive as a higher educator. Before you press play,

  • Grab two sheets of paper.
  • Create five columns on one sheet and three sections on another.

You will use the first sheet to create a graphic organizer for the five traits. Then, at the end of the audio blog, you will create an action plan based on what I shared so that you can ensure that you are developing these traits.

The Five Traits

  1. Passionate
  2.  Harmonious
  3. Adaptable
  4. Technologically Savvy
  5. Professional

The Action Plan

  1. What will you continue doing?
  2. What will you strive to do differently?
  3. Who might support you in bringing your plan to fruition? List any persons, programs, or resources you may need.

I appreciate you spending this time with me.

Please share any golden nuggets you walked away with in the comments and any questions you may have.  Are there other traits that higher educators should possess? Do tell.

If you desire to keep track of your growth and action plans weekly, head over to bit.ly/thewirejournal where you can order my guided journal, The Professor’s Week in Review: A Journal for Weekly Reflections on the Higher Ed Experience. I created it just for you because I know how powerful reflection and planning can be in making the higher ed experience more fulfilling.

Until next week, continue to thrive inside the virtual village!
